Stockton Chamber "Green Team" leads the state developing successful recycling businesses.
The Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce "Green Team" is offering leadership as a California  Chamber administering a Recycling Market Development Zone (RMDZ), offering low interest loans to companies using recycled content feedstock.  Several local firms including Surtec, American Recycling, and Simplot  have joined with Stockton Chamber Program and Public Policy Director Frank Ferral to grow their businesses by establishing Stockton as a hub for businesses utilizing recycled content. The Green Team San Joaquin project is a collaborative effort between private  businesses, municipal and county solid waste divisions and the community of San Joaquin County .  Monthly meetings generally draw 50-70 businesses.  The Green Team has hosted Symposiums on Air, Solar and Energy and has had "Lunch at the Landfill" events to optimize recycling efforts in the County. It is estimated that thousands of businesses have been impacted by one or more of the  programs. As the outreach arm of the Green Team San Joaquin, REACON has visited over 300 companies in San Joaquin County since its inception in 2007. REACON partners have saved businesses over 5 million KWh of energy, instituted business recycling programs, promoted the Commute Connection programs, optimized city/county water conservation efforts, advocated green purchasing policies and designed a Green Sustainable Business Certificate Program.  Click here to join the Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce.
