CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
MOUNTAIN VIEW ANNOUNCES
"GREEN BUSINESS
UNIVERSITY"
The Chamber of Commerce
Mountain View is proud
to offer its members a
Green Certification
program, Green Business
University (GBU). GBU is
a 6-month training
course targeted to small
and mid sized
businesses to assist
them through a step by
step process in
preparation of getting
Bay Area Green Business
certification. Each
class will focus on a
specific aspect of the
certification process
such as Pollution
Prevention, Water
Conservation, Energy
Conservation and Solid
Waste Reduction.
Participants commit to
attend a monthly
class. By the end of the
6th month course the
businesses will
'graduate' by being
inspected and certified
as a Bay Area Green
Business. Classes take
place on the first
Thursday of every month
from 12:00pm to 1:30pm.
Lunch will be provided.
The course starts
January 7, 2010.
Dave Stevens explains
that the program will
benefit the business
community by "teaching
conservation and
protection of natural
resources. Once a
sustainable roadmap has
been established and
followed, businesses
will save a substantial
amount of money on their
water and power bills.
In addition to saving
money and the
environment, they'll be
able to brag about being
Bay Area Green
certified!"
