AB 420 (Wolk): 

Small Businesses around the state recognize the importance of having the children of their employees covered by insurance.  We know that without insurance, minor illnesses can become more serious if they are not treated early.  We also know that employees worrying about their children's health are less productive and may take more time off work to care for their children.  AB 420 improves upon a bill enacted last year, SB 437, which created the WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) gateway.  The WIC gateway
streamlines and expedites health insurance enrollment for children who are served at local WIC agencies.  AB 420 targets participation in the gateway where it will be most effective.
